Description

This characterful detached property sleeping seven guests is the perfect holiday location for families or friends to share. A breathtaking landscape of mountains and loughs is within easy reach, while the picturesque seaside town of Moville is just 1.5 miles away. Enjoy a stroll along the shoreline path to Ballybrack, and experience the wonderful view of Lough Foyle and the mountains of County Kerry across the water. Children in your party will love the splendid play park, also on the shoreline, and fun banana boat rides, one of a great range of water-based activities for all ages offered by a local operator. Moville has an excellent range of shops, eateries and traditionally painted bars and still has a colourful fishing harbour. Further afield, see bears, wolves, lynxes and other animals at Wild Ireland (17.5 miles), a wildlife sanctuary set in ancient woodland.

This quaint, white-painted cottage is attractively furnished, with comfortable leather sofas in the open-plan sitting/dining room/kitchen. A wooden dining table sits below a window and the compact, well-planned country kitchen fits neatly into the remaining space. An open fire in the pretty, period fireplace adds a cosy touch. There are three bright and welcoming double bedrooms. These comprise one with an extra single bed, and one accessed from the third bedroom, which has an en-suite shower room.

Outside, an enclosed gravel terrace has a patio with garden furniture and wonderful views down to Moville and across the lough.

Location

Reviews

This is a traditional cottage close to Moville with an absolute stunning view of Moville, Lough Foyle and beyond. The rooms are in a row, all of them with windows to the spectacular view. The cottage has three bedrooms, one of them quite small, two bathrooms (one of them tiny), and a large room in the middle with enlarged windows that serves as kitchen and living room. The fireplace is great, if needed, but you need to buy the coal yourself. This is not a luxury accomodation but well-maintained and practical. The outside ground associated with the cottage is quite small with a picknick table. Access is very steep and can be somewhat slippery after rain. You will need to turn around your car before leaving and for this reason it is best to come with a compact car. The location is ideal to explore the east and north side of Inishowen. Kinnagoe Bay with an excellent beach and stunning scenery is just 10 km away.
