Description

Get away for a romantic break at this sweet, traditional cottage on a quiet hillside in County Wicklow with fantastic mountain views. It’s all on one level, with an open fire in the lounge, and has lots of outside space, as well as being close to scenic country and coastal walks, local towns, and attractions.

The homely bungalow makes a comfortable base for enjoying everything in the area and then relaxing in the cosy kitchen/lounge/diner in front of the fire and TV, cooking tasty meals in the country-style kitchen to enjoy together at the dining table overlooking the garden. There’s a lovely, light bedroom with a double and single bed, and a handy wash basin, as well as a smart, contemporary shower room. The cottage sits on an acre of land and has a large lawn and stunning views of the countryside and mountains, and there’s seating on the patio where you can enjoy a drink in the sunshine after a fun day out.

Head out on walks through the nearby hills and wooded valleys, including the beautiful Vale of Avoca (5 miles) and the Wicklow Mountains (20 miles). Visit The Woodenbridge Hotel and Restaurant, a 16th-century hotel, for drinks and hearty fare and play a round of golf next door at the Woodenbridge Golf Club (2 miles). Explore Avondale House, the former home of Charles Stewart Parnell (8 miles), and wander along the stunning 3-mile sandy beach at Brittas Beach (9 miles), perfect for surfing and horse riding. The pretty town of Aughrim (3 miles) is nearby, and the coastal town of Arklow is just 6 miles away.
