Description

Combine outdoor adventures with city exploits when staying in this fantastic country cottage, a property set within the Wicklow Mountains yet just a short drive away from Dublin city centre (20.5 miles). The chocolate-box cottage has instant curb appeal, decorated with charming red brick windows and pretty flowers outside. Inside, you’ll find cosy interiors inviting four guests to stay, an ideal base for holidaymaking friends or family. Spend time walking, bike riding, fishing and more in the surrounding County Wicklow scenery, exploring the banks of the banks of the River Liffey just moments from home and the mighty hills that sit on the property’s landscape as well.

Everything’s laid out on a single storey in this compact yet comfortable holiday home. Step into the bungalow and enter the lounge where soft seating is positioned opposite a TV and a wood burner to create the most ambient space to unwind on chilled-out evenings. Just adjacent, a kitchen/diner is the place to be at mealtimes. Two bedrooms, a double and a twin, sit alongside a family bathroom to complete the accommodation’s offering. Outside, a large garden set to lawn is enclosed and offers a delightful view of grazing sheep in the fields nearby, a lovely place to sit with a morning coffee or dinner alfresco.

Across the river, nearby Blessington (4 miles) is one of Wicklow’s biggest towns and a place to centre your trip around. One of the town’s main attractions is Russborough House (7 miles), a historic Georgian house with artworks and estates to explore. Venturing in the opposite direction, the Wicklow Mountains National Park (12 miles) offers an endless array of incredible walking routes and destinations for admiring scenery, including the famed beauty spot featured in the beloved film, PS. I Love You (13.5 miles).

We very much enjoyed the quiet location of the cottage with beautiful views of the mountains and the lake. It was a great starting point for our various endeavours in the region. The space was very generous and the kitchen super Well equipped. Only the bathroom could need a little facelift. Thank you for the hospitality!
