Description

Relish the views over Bannow Bay as you dine alfresco, or curl up in front of the open fire and enjoy a quiet evening in. Ideal for couples or families, this cosy cottage is brilliantly located for bird watching, riding, golf, fishing, days at the beach and touring Wexford’s historic sites.

Timber floors and ceilings give this dormer bungalow warmth and character, making you feel immediately at home. Enter straight into the huge kitchen/diner, with its large dining table and well-equipped kitchen that includes a microwave and a dishwasher. When you’ve eaten, stroll through the double doors, stoke up the fire and enjoy reading, listening to music or watching the TV or a DVD in the lounge. From here, wooden stairs lead to the two spacious bedrooms, a double with an en-suite shower and one that has three single beds, plus a large family bathroom. The picnic bench at the far end of the shingled outside area is an ideal spot when you want to eat in the fresh air or simply sit back and admire the watery view. On weekend evenings in the summer months, you can also enjoy food, drink and music courtesy of the facilities at the owner’s campsite next door. The owner also offers pony trekking.

With beautiful southerly sea views, the cottage is brilliantly located for bird watching – the spring and autumn migrations are magnificent. It’s 2.5 miles from the village of Wellingtonbridge, where you’ll find a pub and a restaurant, and 10 miles from the Passage East ferry, which takes you across to County Waterford. For some interesting history, Tintern Abbey is just 5 miles away and Dunbrody Abbey is 11.5 miles away. The John F Kennedy Arboretum is also 11.5 miles away, and there’s an 18-hole golf course and restaurants at New Ross, 16 miles away.
