It is situated about 4 km (2½ miles) from the village of Wellington Bridge, which is located at the head of Bannow Bay, for nearest pub and restaurant. Ideal for bird-watching – spring and autumn migration. The owners offer pony trekking. The area is rich with historic relics including Tintern and Dunbrody Abbeys. Passage East ferry for Waterford (10 miles). John F Kennedy Arboretum. 18-hole golf course and restaurants at New Ross (16 miles). Good sea fishing, coastal wildlife and variety of beaches. Large parking area, garden furniture and barbecue (to hire).

The cottage overlooks the owner's campsite/camper van parking during the summer months from June-September, where there is a coffee dock, food van, wine license and with music on a Saturday night in June and Friday and Saturday nights in July and August - cottage guests are very welcome to enjoy these extra facilities.
