Description
Enjoy the best of all worlds with a stay at this three-bedroomed bungalow. Located in Ireland’s ‘sunniest corner’, it’s on a working farm within a half-mile walk of two beautiful beaches. With lawns front and back, it features a timber decking area offering countryside views. Located on the Hook Peninsula, Fethard-on-Sea is a small coastal village with welcoming pubs, restaurants, and magnificent beaches.
Drive 2 miles south through rich, fertile farmland, and you’ll find this tastefully renovated, detached bungalow, which is set within its own grounds and full of family-friendly features. Park on the private driveway and step inside to find a full-of-light open-plan living space. Cook up tasty meals in the contemporary kitchen, enjoy countryside views from the windows beside the dining suite, and stretch out on your choice of sofa to watch TV. The wood burner will cast a warm glow over cooler evening get-togethers. A modern shower room offers all the convenience of home, and when it’s time to sleep, three peaceful bedrooms await – two with a double bed, the other with bunks. Outside, a lawned garden wraps around the bungalow; with the front gate locked, the property is fully enclosed. A raised and enclosed decking area to the rear can be accessed either from the garden or via a door from the kitchen; complete with outdoor furniture, it’s a great spot for al fresco dining and far-reaching views.
Sandy Carnivan and Baginbun beaches are around half a mile away, while 6 miles in the opposite direction Hook Lighthouse – the oldest intact operational lighthouse in the world – is a must-see; climb its 115 tower steps for an awesome view stretching across Wexford, Waterford and the Celtic Sea. Just over 6 miles across the peninsula, Duncannon overlooks the Waterford Estuary and is home to a tranquil mile-long beach and an idyllic fishing harbour sheltered by 16th-century Duncannon Fort.
