Description

With a lovely thatched roof and charming all-wood interior, this traditional cottage exudes old-world charm. It’s located on a peaceful country road just 0.5 miles from the pristine Carne Beach, a glorious spot for walking, rock pooling and paddling. The cottage is surrounded by nature reserves, home to a rich diversity of sea birds and wildfowl, while the Lady's Island Lake offers serene watery views and pretty walks. With space for six guests over its four bedrooms, this property is wonderful for a family trip or a holiday among nature-loving friends.

The inside of the cottage has a homely, welcoming feel to it, with exposed stonework and lovely wooden panelling throughout. Rich colours, rugs and elegant tilework all contribute to its visual appeal. The large lounge/dining room, complete with an open fire, sets you up for warm evenings socialising with fellow guests or watching some TV. For some holiday reading or morning tea, the delightful sun lounge is the obvious place to be. It’s got direct access to the garden so you can easily head outside in good weather. The bedrooms, small double (downstairs) two twins and a double, have the use of two bathrooms, one of which is an en-suite. The exterior space features a paved patio area with outdoor furniture, leading to a spacious grassed garden the children will love discovering.

There’s a pub, cafe and shop conveniently located 1 mile away, and all the amenities you need 13 miles north in Wexford. The Wexford coastline is dotted with gorgeous beaches, such as Nethertown (1 mile) Rosslare (8 miles) and the secluded Ballytrent (4 miles). You’ll find plenty of activity options for enjoying the scenery, such as horse-riding facilities and two 18-hole golf courses within 11 miles.

Location

Reviews

The cottage is very clean and comfortable with excellent facilities and in a lovely location in easy walking distance of the beautiful local beaches. Although the main part of the cottage is dark due to the size and number of windows, the sun room gets the sun all day.and has a comfortable sofa and armchairs with a large coffee table. It also has a lovely garden with apple trees and outside patio with plentiful seats. We had a lovely stay and the owner was easily contactable with any queries and responded very quickly to the few we had. We would certainly stay there again and would wholeheartedly recommend it to.others.

The whole house has a lovely atmosphere and it is clear that much love and attention has been showered on it. A wonderful space to unwind and relax.

Ms B,

A quirky cottage in a great location for the coast, beach and walks. A safe garden for children. A pleasant sunroom for relaxing in the day and evening. Comfortable beds in pleasant bedrooms.

Mr B,

Ballask cottage is lovely and homely. We really enjoyed having the open fire and offers an authentic cottage feel.

Mrs H,

This has been our second stay in the cottage. It was off - season so very quiet but we loved having all the family together in isolation and loved been back at the property which is situated in the most perfect location if you wish to explore the wider region. We always leave Ballask cottage with new loving memories.
