Description

Oozing character and charm from its wooden beamed ceilings, traditional cottage decor and an elegant open-plan living space with a wood burner, this cottage is an excellent choice for a wholesome countryside escape. Up to six guests and three canine companions can enjoy a stay in this County Wexford property while exploring the nearby rugged coastline, sand bays, quaint Irish towns, and historic landmarks.

From the moment you step inside, you’ll be won over by the welcoming and homely atmosphere of the open-plan lounge/diner with wooden furnishings, a wooden beamed ceiling, neutral-toned walls, and pops of colour throughout. The space is airy and comfortable, with a wood burner to keep you warm while you relax on the leather armchairs or dine at the table beside the window. On the other side of the room is a ‘U’-shaped farmhouse-style kitchen with wooden worktops and a breakfast bar on the peninsula. An additional lounge boasts an open fire, a TV, comfortable sofas and an armchair. Completing the ground floor is a conservatory with rattan furniture. Upstairs is a family bathroom and three bedrooms – two doubles, one with an en-suite, and a twin room. Outside you’ll find a large, enclosed garden with a patio, lawn, furniture and a BBQ.

During your stay near Ballykeerogemore (0.5 miles), you could visit the nearby Arboretum Garden Railway and John F. Kennedy Park (both within 2 miles). Head to the Hook Peninsula (14 miles) to explore the quiet sandy bays, such as Boyce’s Bay, walk to the 800-year-old Hook Lighthouse and soak up the panoramic and coastal views. Spend an afternoon at Ballyhack village (5.5 miles) where you’ll find a castle and ferry which takes you across the River Barrow to Passage East (7 miles).

Location

Reviews

Great location for exploring the area. We ventured up to Wicklow and Avondale House and beyond the trees which was amazing. Cork was great. As well as Kilkenny and surrounding areas where family were from.

We thoroughly enjoyed our country escape to Home Farm. Rural peaceful location but with all mod cons catered for. Spacious accommodation ,clean, cosy and beds very comfortable. Great for exploring the beautiful nearby beaches, towns and tourist attractions in Wexford and Waterford. Great for dogs too.
