Description

This two-bedroom detached cottage is situated in a hilly area, on the Cork/Waterford border. Surrounded by mature trees, it’s a peaceful holiday retreat and perfect for couples or small families wanting to immerse themselves in nature and enjoy long walks with their dog. Tallow is a small country town and 4 miles away. It features independent shops, friendly restaurants, and pubs. It is situated next to the Bride River where you can try your hand at trout fishing. Alternatively, head to Lismore (6 miles) and explore the gardens at Lismore Castle, enjoy a round of golf at the nine-hole course, or take a walk along the River Blackwater. The more energetic can hike up the Knockmealdown Mountains or swim in the sea at Youghal Beach (9 miles).

Set on one floor, the living area is adorned with colourful furnishings, and a wood burner keeps things cosy on chilly nights. The huge sofa invites you and your family to relax and chat or settle down with a book from the shelf. There’s also a cinema projector and screen so you can curl up with a film. A dining table, seating four people, overlooks the lounge and is perfect for creating memorable meals while sash windows drench the whole space in natural light and offer up glorious views of the garden. Off from the living area is a neat and spacious kitchen with French doors leading out to the garden. The two bedrooms are a good size and feature double beds. Homely comforts include ambient lighting and ample wardrobe space. There’s also a separate bathroom.

Outside there’s plenty of space to enjoy. Start the day with a coffee on the bench table or take a walk through the grounds and listen to the birdsong in the surrounding trees. It’s a secluded location and ideally placed for those who want tranquillity.
