Description

Located at the heart of a historic village and just 3 miles from the coast, this characterful bungalow sleeps five in three bedrooms – one of them a mezzanine-level single. Snuggle in front of the open fire, soak up far-reaching countryside views as you stroll to the nearby bar, or travel the Copper Coast route to the seaside town of Tramore – this is a place where you can do as much or as little as you like.

Close to the pretty parish church and less than a couple of miles from the craggy ruins of Dunhill Castle, this skilfully updated property has interior wooden detailing that creates a lovely sense of warmth throughout. Step through the front door and a feature staircase, timber-clad ceiling and period-style fireplace set the scene for cosy evenings stretched out on the corner sofa with a movie for home-style entertainment. From here, doors lead to the shower room, a double bedroom, a twin room, and the kitchen/diner – the latter a sleek, bright and airy space with a contemporary feel and a dining suite before French doors onto the garden. The third bedroom here – a single – is on a mezzanine level accessed via that striking staircase in the lounge. For a breath of fresh country air, open the French doors from the kitchen and you’ll find a patio area with furniture surrounded by a lawned, fully-enclosed garden. A lockable shed is available for storage.

A must-see for history enthusiasts, the ruins of Dunhill Castle are around 1.5 miles away; follow the Anne Valley Nature Walk from here to Annestown Beach which, at low tide, comes to life with sea arches and islands and is a haven for wildlife. Take a break from self-catering with a stroll to the nearby bar, just a few metres from your front door, or visit Tramore (7.5 miles), famous for its beach, family-style amusements and racecourse. The UNESCO Copper Coast Geopark stretches along Waterford's rugged coastline from Tramore to the harbour town of Dungarvan (20 miles).
