Description

This beautifully restored, traditional Kerry Farmhouse is a perfect hideaway for friends and families seeking a relaxing holiday in County Kerry.  It has breathtaking panoramic views of mountains, lakes and the sea beyond. Waterville, 3.5 miles away, is home to one of Ireland’s top-rated golf links, as well as sandy beaches, scuba diving and horse-riding opportunities. Discover more about the area’s history at Loher Stone Fort (6 miles) and Ballinskelligs Castle (12.5 miles). Head 18 miles to St Finian’s bay and the Kerry Cliffs, where you can watch gannets diving for fish and enjoy the incredible coastal views. Or take a boat trip to the rocky Skellig Island of St Michael, see the thousands of puffins that breed there and climb steep steps to the beehive huts at the top.  At Derrynane (10 miles), you can see the ancestral home of Daniel O’Connell (Irish politician and statesman) and enjoy beautiful, sandy beaches.

The house itself is sympathetically renovated to combine a traditional feel with contemporary requirements. Downstairs, a large comfortably furnished sitting room has exposed ceiling beams and a stone-feature fireplace, two deep sofas and easy chairs.  A small ‘ante room’ offers a table for cards and games. The separate dining room/sunroom provides plenty of natural light to sit and read and spot the birds. The well-equipped kitchen/breakfast room has all you need for a tasty meal.  A third shower room, WC and bathroom are also downstairs. Upstairs is a king-size bedroom with views west towards Waterville, a small double bedroom and a twin bedroom. This has the en-suite bathroom. A separate shower/WC room is for sharing. Upstairs too is a relaxing study/TV room with a huge round window bringing in the sun from the south.

Outside, the small patio (patio chairs provided) and enclosed grass area offers a space where small children can safely play.
