Description

Nestled in a secluded wooded setting at the foot of the Caha Mountains, lose yourself in stunning mountain views across Inchiquin Lough from almost every window of this rustic stone cottage. This is the ultimate peaceful getaway for families and groups of friends looking to leave behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Beneath the traditional stone exterior, this wonderfully rustic cottage transports you to centuries past, with exposed ceiling beams and characterful painted stone walls throughout the generous open-plan lounge/diner, reminiscent of a rustic farmhouse. The gorgeous piano and soothing neutral colour palette offer a truly warming ambience that beckons weary walking muscles to unwind. Complete with a country cottage-style aesthetic, the homely kitchen offers everything you need to cater if you decide to eat in. Across the ground and first floor, each of the three bedrooms, two en-suites doubles and one en-suite twin, feature breathtaking mountain views and homely touches that ensure a peaceful rest before tomorrow’s adventure. Make the most of your fresh, mountainside air by dining alfresco on the patio furniture with a glass of something chilled.

This quiet wooded spot beside the Inchiquin Lough (accessible from the property) overlooked by the Caha Mountains is a haven for keen outdoor enthusiasts, with a plethora of walks through the surrounding mountains beginning from the doorstep. Explore streams with log bridges, rock passages, mountain paths with carved steps, glens, and the magnificent Gleninchaquin Waterfall at Gleninchaquin Park, a mile away. Pack a picnic and head further along the Wild Atlantic Way to Kilmakilloge (10 miles) to enjoy fine views of the Kenmare River and the surrounding Beara Peninsula. Offering golf courses, beautiful walks, water sports and breathtaking scenery, a visit to the small town of Kenmare, 11 miles away, is a must.
