Description

This attractive holiday home, which is surrounded by lakes in an idyllic setting in County Kerry, has stunning views of the Kerry Mountains. Sleeping four guests, the property near the small town of Rathmore (3 miles) makes a great base for couples and small families. The area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with fishing available on the nearby Blackwater River (1.5 miles), and fabulous walking opportunities in Killarney National Park (13 miles) and the Gap of Dunloe (20 miles).

The detached bungalow has an open aspect and far-reaching mountain views. Inside, a warm welcome awaits, with traditional furniture and homely touches throughout the property. The cosy lounge is a delightful place to unwind at the end of the day, with a comfortable sofa and armchairs to sink into as you read a book or watch the TV. From here, move through to the bright and airy kitchen/diner, which is equipped with everything needed to rustle up hearty breakfasts and tasty dinners to enjoy together at the sweet dining table by the window. The cottage has three pretty bedrooms and completing the accommodation is a family bathroom. A spacious garden wraps around the bungalow, with a lawn for children to play on and a patio area with furniture for al fresco dining.

Killarney (15 miles) is a traditional Irish town with a fantastic array of pubs, bars and restaurants, as well as independent shops and open-air markets. The town is the starting point for the Ring of Kerry driving/cycling route, as well as the Kerry Way walking trail. Killarney is the gateway to Killarney National Park, where you can climb to the summit of Ireland’s tallest mountain, meander along the beautiful waterside tracks to Torc Waterfall, or explore the grounds of Muckross House.

Reviews

The cottge that Connor found for us was acceptable but we felt let down that we had to travel another hour and a half from our original destination but that said the cottage itself was spotless beautiful views of the moutains and some nice walking Killarny not to far away also Lakes of Killarny weren't to far. I would recommend the cottage to families the only downside was there was only one doube bed outerwise all good. (boiler issues at original cottage booked)

Mr C,

Extremely helpful and pleasant host, everything we needed in the cottage and it was reasonably close o the main road but far enough out of the way to be quiet and peaceful
