Description

For a tranquil getaway with friends or family, this remote farmhouse has it all, including an open fire, distant mountain views and a large garden with woodland and a stream. This is an ideal base for outdoor activities, from days at the beach to boat trips and sea fishing.

Step straight into the farmhouse’s welcoming lounge, where a tiled floor and a timbered ceiling offer a traditional feel. This room has soft seating, a TV/DVD player and a fire for extra warmth in the winter months. The pretty painted kitchen includes a Belfast sink and a wall-mounted plate rack for a lovely farmhouse feel, while a microwave and a dishwasher will help with both cooking and cleaning. This room flows into the dining room/sunroom, a lovely, light-filled spot in which to enjoy meals or a game of cards. At bedtime, you’ll find one of the two double bedrooms on the ground floor, with the other on the first floor, along with a twin and a single. The family bathroom boasts a corner whirlpool bath and a separate shower. The patio is equipped with furniture and a BBQ, and there’s a large, woodland garden with a stream to explore.

In peaceful surroundings close to the Portmagee Channel, the property is 2 miles from Portmagee, where there are a handful of shops and places to eat. Drive over the bridge to explore Valentia Island, with its beautiful scenery and varied bird life, or take a boat to the Skellig rocks and see the monastic archaeology. The nearest sandy beach is 2.5 miles away. If you want to get active, you can walk, cycle, fish, scuba dive and even hang glide in the nearby area. In Waterville, 10 miles away, you’ll find an excellent golf course as well as an array of pubs, cafes and restaurants.
