Description

Tucked in a peaceful mountain location with picturesque views over Kenmare Bay and the Caha Mountains, this 400-year-old heritage cottage appeals to adventurers and peace-seekers alike. Sleeping four guests in two bedrooms and welcoming one canine companion, this rustic retreat is ideal for a romantic bolthole, a family adventure, or a getaway with friends. With Kenmare 5.5 miles away and natural wonders and cultural landmarks all around, it promises an unforgettable stay.

This stone-built, thatched cottage boasts an enchanting rustic aesthetic with stone walls, vaulted and beamed ceilings, and eclectic decor creating a warm and welcoming ambiance. Heart of the home is a long lounge and dining room with an inglenook fireplace and wood burner inviting cosy evenings in. The country-style kitchen is light and airy with a breakfast table for casual meals, and a door leading to the south-facing garden, which has outdoor furniture and great views. Along the corridor, two spacious double bedrooms promise a restful night’s sleep, while a family bathroom and utility room take care of all practicalities. This delightful cottage also benefits from underfloor heating throughout.

A short walk (around 1 mile) takes you to Coss Strand, a sand and pebble beach that invites safe swimming and picnics. The vibrant town of Kenmare offers independent shops, gourmet food and a lively pub culture with traditional Irish music. If you want to practise your swing, the Ring of Kerry Golf Club is just 2 miles away. Plus, you can pick up the Ring of Kerry scenic drive in either direction to discover the wonders of the Iveragh Peninsula.
