Description

This characterful, detached cottage in a quiet location, offers wonderful views and a place to unwind, perfect for families or groups of friends. Situated on a quiet country road in a beautiful part of County Kerry, the village of Caherdaniel is only 500 metres away. Nearby are plenty of attractions to uncover, including the stunning Derrynane National Park (2 miles), where you can head to Derrynane’s sandy beach, ideal for swimming, water sports and sandcastles. Waterville (8 miles) is another must-visit destination along the Wild Atlantic Coast, where foodies will love the selection of eateries, including high-end restaurants, while golfers will love the 18-hole championship course. If you prefer to hike and enjoy the varied landscapes of the local area, then enjoy the drive to Valentia Island (25 miles) and walk the Geokaun Mountain and Cliffs for some unforgettable coastal scenery.

This lovely two-storey cottage perfectly blends original features, such as exposed wooden ceiling beams, stone-feature fireplaces, and contemporary comforts, that will make this a memorable stay. The social heart of the home is the ground floor, where guests will find an open-plan kitchen/diner, and adjoining lounge space. With its comfortable seating, vaulted ceilings and TV, the lounge offers a tranquil spot to curl up with a good book, while the chef works their magic in the kitchen. Here, you’ll find all you need to cook up memorable group meals, which can be enjoyed at the dining table that sits next to a crackling wood burner, a wonderful spot to dine and reflect on the day’s adventures. Completing the ground floor is the first bedroom, a double room with an en-suite shower room and WC. Head upstairs, and there are two further bedrooms with plenty of storage space and countryside views to wake up to - one double and a twin bedroom. A separate bathroom with a shower, bath, and WC completes the offer of this impressive cottage.

Head outside to take in the views from the patio, complete with garden furniture and BBQ, making this the ideal spot for al fresco dining and evening sundowners. Surrounding the patio space is a verdant and enclosed garden, offering more magical views.

Reviews

Cottage was lovely with everything you need provided really great

Mr B,

Cottage is in good position, close to Ring of Kerry road but just off it by a few hundred yards so very quiet; very convenient for the great beaches at Derrynane, and for the O'Connell house at Derrynane. A good spacious property, and the ground floor bedroom with en suite is great for guests unable to climb stairs. Good off road parking. The large lounge could do with some extra furnishing e.g. coffee table and standard lamp. Overall quite good value for money in a beautiful location.

Mr T,
