Description

This pretty, detached bungalow in a beautiful spot overlooking Derrynane Bay, is perfect for families or groups of friends seeking a peaceful holiday on the Lamb’s Head Peninsula. The views across the bay to Derrynane National Park are magnificent, as is the sandy beach that sits less than 500 metres away from your door. The village of Caherdaniel (1 mile) boasts a welcoming pub, a local shop, and choice of restaurants. Head 2.5 miles around the Ring of Kerry to the beautiful Derrynane Beach, where you can explore the seashore nature trail, enjoy a range of water sports, or build sandcastles. There is a championship golf course at Waterville (9 miles) - a seafront village known for its excellent eateries, water sports opportunities, and walks or rides along the beach. Discover the area’s history at Lother Stone Fort (9 miles), or drive along the scenic landscapes of the Wild Atlantic Way to Ballinskelligs Castle (19 miles).

Nestled amongst greenery with marvellous views through the windows, the property’s social heart lies in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, the perfect spot to gather and reflect on a day’s adventure. The lounge space beckons with its inviting seating, warming open fire and TV, while the kitchen hosts all you need to cook your favourite meals for the group, who can gather at the scenic, window-side dining table to enjoy the chef’s hard work. When it’s time to call it a night, walk past the well-appointed family bathroom and find three inviting bedrooms; a double room, a twin bedroom and a bunk room.

For outside space, step out onto the balcony to take in the fresh air and panoramic views, a lovely spot for a morning cuppa or evening tipple. Guests can also step out into the verdant garden, through the kitchen’s patio doors, to enjoy a morning able through the greenery, a most peaceful way to start the day.

Location

Reviews

The location is stunning- amazing views across the estuary and out to sea, with the Skellig in the distance; picture windows in the living room make the most of this view. However, there is no personal welcome, or folder of instructions, places to visit etc. Simply a list of demands- including having to take all rubbish down to the village (instead of leaving it in the bin outside the cottage) Unlike the previous Shamrock cottage we were in the week before, this place was cold (clothes actually felt damp after being in the wardrobes) and did not have a friendly vibe. The kitchen was just adequately equipped, but not brilliantly. Really quite a disappointment- we were very happy to be out all day.

Mrs M,

We return to this bungalow every year, the views are amazing, it’s well situated and it suits us perfectly.

Mr H,
