Description

For those who love to be beside the sea, this coastal cottage is a dream come true with its private garden set just metres away from the beach. Its charming wood-clad interiors and cosy atmosphere will help you to relax and unwind, whether you’re travelling as a couple or a small family. You can wander across the rocky coastline right from your doorstep for an invigorating walk surrounded by an array of wild flora, fauna and wildlife to soak in the serenity of the area.

Upon entering the property you’ll find yourself in the interesting kitchen/diner which is filled with warm wooden hues and terracotta tones creating a cosy atmosphere. Here, the fully-equipped kitchen ensures you can cook up a feast for all the family, and serve it up on the four-seater dining table. The wooden staircase leads up to the living room with its unusual, curved ceiling and panoramic views over the water where you can sit and watch the world go by, keeping your eyes peeled for any sightings of seals or otters! When it’s time for bed, take your pick from one of the two bedrooms, one of which features a double and the other a set of bunk beds, both in fitting with the rest of the property’s decor. Completing the property is the well-appointed shower room. Outside, the garden is an oasis of calm with a table and chairs for al fresco dining and a selection of plants interspersed between the rocky crags to create a dramatic yet delightful garden area.

Travel just 7 miles and you’ll be surrounded by outdoor activities in Derryclare. The Lough offers a leisurely, whimsical walk at all times of the year, whilst a climb to the Derryclare summit is sure to reward you with awe-inspiring panoramic views over Bencorr and Lough Inagh.

Reviews

A unique place to relax and enjoy. This was our the 3rd stay and we can only repeat our description from June 2023. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and watched the seals and the changing weather from the upper floor. It was like coming home for us now. A special thanks to the owners. We'll be back!

Mrs R,

The view from the windows was glorious, we drove all over Connemara and didn't find a better view than the one from the cottage. Wildlife watching and swimming direct from the back door! We had a wonderful holiday. Thank you!

Mr S,

Excellent emplacement. Hôtes présents mais très discrets. La vue depuis le salon et la chambre est magnifique.

Mrs P,

Absolutely stunning and magical place to have stayed in. Fab views inside out. Peace, quiet and tranquil always great to come back to at end of the day.

Mrs P,
