Description
Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life in this remote cottage near the village of Carraroe. Sleeping four guests, the traditional cottage is perfect for families and friends who love getting out and about in nature. Enjoy long hikes amongst the rugged landscape of this picturesque peninsula, or perhaps hop in the car and take a day trip to the colourful city of Galway, 26 miles away.
The bright and airy cottage has a homely feel, with creature comforts, cute accessories, and artwork. The lounge has a cheerful colour scheme and is a lovely place to unwind in after a day of adventure, reading a book or watching the TV/DVD. The separate kitchen/diner is a joy to cook in, with far-reaching views and all the equipment needed for a self-catering break. A comfortable sofa provides the perfect spot to relax with a glass of wine as you wait for the dinner to cook, and there’s a cute wooden dining table for sharing mealtimes as a group. When it’s time for bed, choose from three inviting bedrooms. A refreshing shower room completes the accommodation. The attractive, south-facing garden is partially enclosed by a stone wall, and has a large lawn where children can play and there’s lovely furniture for al fresco dining.
Carraroe (1.5 miles) is a friendly, Irish-speaking village with cosy pubs, bars, and cafes. The village is renowned for its traditional Irish boats, known as Galway Hookers, which you can admire during the maritime festival which takes place every August. Carraroe’s Coral Beach is truly unique, with white sand made up of a coralline algae and beautiful, turquoise waters – the perfect spot for a picnic on a summer’s day. From Rossaveal (5 miles) you can hop on the ferry to visit the wild and remote Aran Islands.
