Description
Ideally suited to families and friends looking to explore the Wild Atlantic Way, this characterful cottage is a fantastic base. Boasting a generous garden for the warmer months of the year, and a charming wood burner for the cooler months, this property is a great option all year round. What’s more, the pier can be found less than 700 metres away for invigorating walks beside the sea surrounded by dramatic coastal scenery.
At the heart of the home is the spacious living room, decorated in earthy tones with features such as an exposed stone wall and wooden flooring creating a sense of warmth. The large corner sofa ensures space for all the family to sprawl out in front of the wood burner, whilst the small dining table beneath the stairs is a perfect place for board games. Next door is the open-plan kitchen/diner with ample storage space for all your snacks and treats, as well as everything you’ll need to cook up a meal in the calming kitchen area. Downstairs is also home to the first of the bedrooms which is generously sized with a double bed for a good night’s rest. From here you can access the bold second double room which features an additional two single beds, perfect for families. Completing the interiors is the family bathroom with an overhead shower for convenience. Outside, the lush green lawn area features several seating options for evenings spent dining al fresco, which offers privacy thanks to the towering shrubs that surround the garden.
Pay a visit to the lake of Derryclare Lough (14 miles) for a whimsical walk through ancient woodland and along the shores. The views from here are spectacular on a clear day, with plenty of flora, fauna and wildlife to pique your interest during a walk, especially if you spend time in the nature reserve itself. For a challenge, climb to the summit of Derryclare or Bencorr for perfectly picturesque panoramic views across the area.
