Spacious and comfortably furnished, it is a delightful base for families or a group of friends planning to explore Connemara’s glorious scenery and it enjoys far reaching views of mountains and lake. The cottage is within 200 metres of a sandy beach and 3 miles from the village of Ballyconneely, where you’ll find shops, a bar and well-regarded restaurant, plus the Connemara Smokehouse, which runs taste-testing tours. There are more shops and restaurants in bustling Clifden (8.5 miles) and the pretty village of Roundstone (6 miles). Just 2 miles from Roundstone are two superb golden beaches, Gurteen and Dog’s Bay, both perfect for water sports. Practise your swing in the scenic surroundings of Connemara Golf Links (6 miles). Other attractions nearby include fishing trips, horse riding and cruises around Roundstone Bay. Gilly available for fly fishing on the lake by arrangement who can also provide tuition for 5 year olds and upwards on Maumeen Lake. Within a mile (1.6 km) of a safe sandy beach.
Timber-lined ceilings and a multifuel burner set in a period fireplace add to the quaint charm of this cosy cottage. Recently upgraded with double glazing windows. The open plan living/dining room houses comfortable seating, and a vintage bench at the dining table provides ample space for shared meals. A roomy kitchen caters for all your cooking needs and there are lovely views from all windows. There are four bedrooms, comprising a king-size and three twins (convertable to doubles), and two bathrooms: one with a bath and WC and one with a bath and separate shower.
