Description

Embrace the tranquillity of County Galway’s lakes and mountains on a stay at this charming, family-friendly cottage. Boasting a beautiful private garden surrounded by 5 acres of land, the property is the perfect antidote to the hustle and bustle of everyday life. What’s more, the sandy bay of Callow Strand lies less than a mile away for invigorating beach walks with sublime scenery at all times of the year.

Welcoming you inside is the open-plan kitchen/living room/diner, filled with natural light through the large French doors. The space is warmed by a characterful wood burner, surrounded by comfortable seating and idyllic views to help you to truly unwind during your break. When it’s time to get creative in the kitchen, the room has been cleverly designed to make the most of a small space and ensure you have everything you need for mealtimes. The sleeping arrangements comprise two bedrooms, one with a set of twin beds, and the other a set of bunk beds offering versatility. Both bedrooms share the well-appointed family bathroom, decorated in pretty, pastel hues of blue to reflect the local lakes and coastline. Outside, unwind in the sprawling garden space where the sun shines and the views of your surroundings will wow. A cute and scenic picnic bench beckons al fresco breakfasts and dinners.

Avid walkers can relish the opportunity to walk a stretch of the Wild Atlantic Way, accessible within a mile, whilst the lakes of Maumeen and Barrowen (within 2 miles) ensure a diversity of trails right on your doorstep. For something more challenging, the Twelve Bens mountain range (17 miles) is home to 22 peaks ranging from 100 metres to 729 metres in elevation with breathtaking scenery and a vast variety of wildlife, flora and fauna to spot along the pathways.

Location

Reviews

Very nice small cottage, quiet, confortable but kitchen table do not allowed to take a meal to four people.

Mrs T,

Very AUTHENTIC cottage with old charm and grandma type cosyness, very well located between the beautiful Dog's Bay of Roundstone and the pleasant little village of Ballyconeely (the smokehouse is a must go for its salmon). Also typical rural Connemara surroundings with sheeps and Connemara ponies to entertain you if you are animal lovers (if so, don't miss the auctions at the Connemara poney sales in Clifden several times a year)...BUT please be aware that for autumn and winter holidays, the house is hardly isolated and the heating is outdated, even with the stove.

Mrs D,

Idyllic location

Mr K,

I have stayed in this cottage many times and would recommend it to anyone with more than one dog.

Mr G,

We love this place and have already booked our next and 4th stay, counting down the days until then

Ms B,
