Description
This handsome, detached cottage occupies a serene and secluded rural location, set against a backdrop of rugged mountains and sweeping countryside. Sleeping six guests in three bedrooms, this pet-friendly property is ideal for families and groups of friends seeking tranquillity and outdoors adventures. The surrounding area is rich in things to do, from the pretty seaside hamlet of Bruckless to the fishing port of Killybegs and glorious Fintra Beach.
Arranged over two storeys, this stone-fronted cottage is warm and welcoming, its cosy interiors blending rustic charm with modern amenities. The heart of the cottage is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a bright yet cosy space with windows on three sides capturing the best of the light. This sociable room features a large, country-style kitchen, a dining table next to a window, and a small seating area, and is warmed by a wood burner. A second lounge with an open fire offers space to spread out and relax, and the ground floor is also home to a utility room, the family bathroom and one double bedroom, which is ideal for those with mobility issues. Upstairs, a second double room and a twin room sit beneath the eaves with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. This delightful property benefits from a garden with outdoor furniture and a BBQ, allowing guests to dine alfresco in warm weather.
The scenic hamlet of Bruckless (1.5 miles) has a handful of amenities, including a shop, pub, restaurant and pony-trekking centre. More provisions and attractions can be found at Killybegs (6.5 miles), a fishing port on the Wild Atlantic Way. From here, you can hire a boat to explore the coastline or learn about the town on its Heritage Walk. The coast holds many treasures too, including Fintra Beach (8 miles) and spectacular Slieve League Cliffs, which are among the highest sea cliffs in Europe (20 miles).
