Description

This delightful single-storey cottage is perched on Ireland’s dramatic western coast, the ideal setting for small families or groups of friends seeking an activity-led holiday with room for three dogs. The area is a haven for walkers and those with a keen interest in Irish history. Glencolumbkille’s family-friendly village and its eponymous beach lie within 750 miles of the cottage, the latter lined by the astonishing Slieve League Cliffs whose trails, small coves and long beaches have been enjoyed by locals and visitors for generations.

The deceptively large cottage offers naturally lit, welcoming rooms throughout, all of which enjoy a homely and rustic ambience thanks to quirky and rustic soft furnishings that are neatly arranged across an assortment of hard flooring. The lounge/diner has a vaulted ceiling and seating that offers comfort in spades, especially when the open fire is roaring. The spacious kitchen stands just beyond and is the perfect place to enjoy local seafood. The lodge also features a double bedroom and a twin bedroom that are served by a nearby shower room.

The lodge is surrounded by a lawned area at its front and a split-level decked area with garden furniture to the rear, where visitors can enjoy al fresco meals or just relax and enjoy the stunning coastal views.

Reviews

We had two Labradors and they settled in very quickly. The half door is an excellent idea. The cottage is cosy and comfortable for the humans too. I could spend hours just sitting by the fire watching the light change the stunning view, full of autumnal colour.

Ms W,

Beautiful cottage so scenic, roads very narrow and hilly but worth every bit of it. Highly recommend this place
