Description

Get away from it all in this rural retreat on the breathtaking Loughros Peninsula. The property sleeps six guests and is an ideal base for families and groups of friends looking to get out and explore this wild and rugged landscape. Enjoy walks from your front door along the quiet lanes that criss-cross the peninsula, or journey to Loughros Head for a quiet picnic on the beach or an exhilarating coastal walk. For shopping, eating out, and boat trips, head to the harbour town of Killybegs, 14.5 miles away.

The traditional bungalow is just 200 metres from the water’s edge and boasts fabulous coastal views. Inside, a cosy home-away-from-home awaits, full of creature comforts to make your stay as relaxed as possible. After a day of outdoor adventure, sink into the plump sofa or armchair in the lounge to read a book or watch TV in the glow of the wood burner. The separate kitchen/diner has everything needed to rustle up hearty breakfasts and delicious dinners, which you can share around the wooden dining table. Three tastefully decorated double bedrooms and a family bathroom round off this coastal retreat. Outside, fire up the BBQ and enjoy an al fresco supper whilst admiring your peaceful surroundings.

The picturesque village of Ardara is 4 miles from the property. Here, you’ll find cosy pubs and restaurants serving local dishes, as well as a thriving live music scene (the village hosts several festivals throughout the year). Maghera Beach (10 miles), with its white sand and turquoise waters, is a must on a sunny, summer’s day. At low tide, you can also admire the fascinating collection of caves and tunnels at this much-loved beauty spot. Other nearby points of interest include the spectacular Assaranca Waterfall and the popular driving route through Glengesh Pass, both within 13 miles.
