Description

For a cosy getaway with the family, this detached holiday home in Donegal has a lot to offer, including a roaring open fire in the living room. Situated in a tranquil location surrounded by a wide valley and river, a vast array of walking trails and adventures can be found on your doorstep. One of the most picturesque spots to visit whilst staying in the area is the Assaranca Waterfall, a magical beauty spot.

Welcoming you into the property is the charming living room, with an open fire in a stunning fireplace. Comfortable armchairs and a sofa ensure there’s space for all the family to kick back and relax in front of the TV, whilst the window allows natural light to flood the room. Next door, the kitchen/diner is equipped with everything you could need to fix up a feast, including a small round dining table for your morning coffee. Completing the ground floor is a tasteful bedroom with a double bed and a playful bunk room which is ideal for children. These two bedrooms share a bathroom, whilst the double bedroom on the first floor has use of the second bathroom for convenience. Outside, the garden area is spacious with plenty of options for seating, as well as sweeping views.

Make for the coast with a visit to Maghera Beach (9 miles) and you’ll be in awe at the far-reaching sea views. At low tide, spend time exploring more than 20 caves and coves which have been eroded over thousands of years and offer a fascinating insight into the geology of the local area. Over in Ardara (5 miles), you’ll find the Triona Donegal Tweed Centre where you can sit and watch demonstrations of the cloth being made whilst learning about the history of this iconic cloth.
