Description

Making a charming retreat for up to five guests, this airy single-level holiday cottage is a fantastic base for eager walkers, nature lovers and boating enthusiasts discovering a spellbinding part of the Cork coastline. The property lies just a couple of miles from the bustling fishing village of Schull, a popular sailing centre with a choice of fine restaurants, pubs, a golf course and a planetarium, alongside opportunities for water sports, horse riding and boat trips to Cape Clear. With Mount Gabriel (6.5 miles) providing an imposing backdrop, the property makes a great base for exploring the Mizen Head Peninsula – Ireland’s most southerly point (14.5 miles). The area also has some wonderful beaches and attractions including Dunmanus Castle (6.5 miles) and the Vintage Doll Museum (1 mile).

A couple of steps lead up and into this charming retreat which has been decorated in fresh, cheerful shades throughout. The bright and spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a cosy space for you all to unwind in, with a TV and welcoming wood burner in the comfortable, wooden-floored lounge area. The simply decorated kitchen/diner has a sociable central dining table and plenty of equipment to help you rustle up all your favourite dishes. Exploring this sweet, coastally-themed cottage further you will find an invigorating bathroom and three light, stylish bedrooms: a pretty double room with a wash basin and built-in wardrobes, a cheerful twin and a relaxing single with views over the treetops.

Heading outside, the garden is enclosed and covers almost an acre, with an array of beautiful plants, shrubs and trees. Offering glorious views, the garden makes a lovely spot for you all to sit out and enjoy a summer’s afternoon in the sun.
