Description

Enjoy panoramic views of the West Cork coastline from the garden of this characterful farmhouse, which sits on a small peninsular between Rosscarbery and Glandore (within 4.5 miles). With homely living areas and excellent links to the beaches and countryside, this dog-friendly cottage is ideal for walkers, nature lovers and water sports fanatics.

The two-storey farmhouse sits in a secluded position overlooking a rugged coastline made up of peaceful tidal inlets and sandy beaches. The exterior’s white-washed walls immediately catch the eye and are a wonderful introduction to the cottage’s characterful interior, which is a blend of original features and contemporary soft furnishings. The cosy lounge features exposed beam ceilings and offers quirky seating throughout. Everything is arranged around a wood burner, with sea views aplenty from a series of adjacent windows and doors. The spacious kitchen/diner has plenty of room for everyone on two and four paws, with further sea views through multiple windows. Adding to the homely feel is a shower room and a separate utility room, perfect for sorting out mucky pups of varying persuasions. A wooden staircase leads up to the first floor and the farmhouse’s rustic bedrooms. There are three doubles and a single to choose from, all beautifully lit and offering lovely views. A spacious family bathroom is located nearby. Make the most of the enclosed patio garden on warm days for morning coffees, al fresco brunches and nightcaps around the table and chairs. There are pockets of lawned areas here too, ideal for dog-friendly children’s games.

The farmhouse sits 200 metres from a sandy beach set in a small cove, a typical sight across West Cork. Head to Rosscarbery, Glandore, or Skibbereen (all within 7 miles) for a dose of Irish culture, essentials or something to eat, and make the most of the footpaths, cycle routes and water sports activities found in between.
