Description

This handsome house is a wonderful, waterfront escape for a group of friends or large families, perfectly positioned for outdoor adventures on the sea or inland, with gourmet restaurants and friendly pubs nearby. Spacious rooms, excellent facilities and, above all, incredible views from almost every window make this a holiday home not to miss.

Pale walls and coordinated furnishings in natural and neutral shades give this traditional property plenty of style and allow the scenic views to really shine. The comfortable sitting room features a lovely ornamental fireplace and is complemented by a bright dining room where there’s plenty of space to linger and chat after a delicious meal. The spacious kitchen includes a dishwasher and microwave, as well as an island unit with space for three chairs for breakfast, snacks or a mug of coffee. A utility room with laundry facilities and a shower room complete the downstairs. On the first floor, you’ll find the four bedrooms, all beautifully furnished and with ample storage. The king-size room boasts a dressing table and an en-suite shower, plus there’s a double, a twin (with two steps down from the door) and a single, as well as a separate shower room. The garden includes furniture for you to spend time enjoying the fresh air, and the sandy foreshore is just 100 metres away.

In a secluded position looking over Courtmacsherry Bay, the house is set above the Wild Atlantic Coast Road, with the nearest pub and restaurant 1 mile away. You’ll find shops and pubs in the villages of Timoleague and Kilbrittain, both 3 miles away, while the historic port of Kinsale, 12.5 miles away, is renowned for its excellent eateries. On the other side of the estuary, Courtmacsherry is one of Ireland’s premier angling centres and is also a base for whale-watching trips.

Reviews

Stunning and had an old feel to it but after all it’s almost 200 years old . If the walls could talk .

Mr L,

This is a lovely spacious farmhouse, with views to die for. We spent a lot of time walking on the beautiful beaches and through the woodlands nearby. The village shop in Courtmacsherry had everything you needed for the stay. The Pink Elephant restaurant just up the road, as was Rebecca’s cafe. We were made very welcome in Charlie Maddens pub in Timoleague. Great base for visiting Cork and further afield. Very quiet, especially overnight and pretty views across the estuary. You won’t be disappointed.

Mrs H,

Very comfortable and clean. Had everything we needed and the location was excellent between Kinsale and Clonakilty. We would live to come back.

Mr O,

Ideal location between Kinsale, Bandon and Clonakilty; high standard cottage with a stunning view. Can highly recommend.

Mr W,

Burren Farmhouse was brilliant. Excellent location, amazing views, all the equipment you could need and just a great place to spend a week with the family. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet but easy to get to places spot in west Cork. We loved it and would happily stay again in the future.

Mr C,

Lovely place to stay it was great to use as a base to explore west Cork. The views were amazing and the sun lounge was great on windy days
