Description

Set upon 15 acres of land, and with far-reaching views over Dunmanus Bay and the peninsulas of Sheep's Head and Beara, this gorgeous detached home offers idyllic accommodation for large groups of nature lovers. It’s in a completely secluded spot right at the end of a road on the stunning Mizen Head Peninsula — fantastic if you cherish privacy — and surrounded by a gorgeous rugged landscape. With space for up to 16 guests, it’s a wonderful base for a multi-generational family holiday or a trip among friends and their children.

The inside of this spectacular home features lots of elegant wood, with ceiling panels, flooring, furniture and doors all crafted from the natural material. You’ll have a huge amount of space for your group to spread out, starting with the generously sized lounge, which has a cosy open fire and French doors leading to a lovely conservatory with slate flooring. Large windows and high ceilings throughout create a spacious and airy feel, while decorative touches include brightly painted walls, plants, bucolic artwork and taxidermy. You’ll have five bedrooms along with a dormitory accessed via a narrow staircase, which doubles as a games room – fantastic for children and teens. Outside, there’s a decked area and grounds extending to a rocky, unfenced shoreline featuring a blow hole. The sauna will surely be the icing on the cake for your restorative Irish trip.

You’ll be 3 miles from the charming village of Goleen, offering convenient access to local shops, pubs and restaurants during your stay. The hidden gem of Canty’s Cove is just 1.5 miles away, a lovely spot for taking a dip in crystal-clear waters. Excellent beaches nearby include Barley Cove (7 miles) and Crookhaven (6.5). The well-known fishing village and sailing centre of Schull (10.5 miles) offers an 18-hole golf course, water sports, horse riding and ferry trips to Cape Clear and the surrounding islands – so much to choose from!

Reviews

Wonderful, peaceful location for a quiet interlude. Probably the most impressive library of any vacation rental we have seen. The book on the history of the north Mizen area was particularly interesting. The caretaker, was terrific.
