Description

Enjoy a special stay on the Beara Peninsula in West Cork at this traditional farmhouse on the outskirts of Glengariff. Sleeping five guests in three bedrooms, this warm and inviting property is ideal for families and groups of friends seeking a tranquil escape with the convenience of village amenities close at hand. There’s plenty to keep all ages occupied here with a national forest, the magical ‘Blue Pool’ tidal harbour, and boat trips to Garnish Island. Guests even benefit from private sea access via the owner’s neighbouring property.

Thoughtfully equipped and furnished, this spacious, detached farmhouse provides a true home from home. The lounge is spacious yet cosy thanks to the plush seating and solid-fuel burner, which promises warm, convivial evenings enjoying quality time with your loved ones. The horseshoe-shaped kitchen is well equipped with plenty of space to whip up family favourites, and there’s a choice of dining options with a breakfast table, a formal dining room, and a picnic table on the rear patio. Three tastefully presented bedrooms – a double, a twin and a single – invite a comfortable night’s sleep, while a family bathroom and an en suite on the master bedroom offer comfort and convenience for all. Outside, there’s a spacious backyard with a BBQ and garden furniture, and guests can cross the road and wander down to the water’s edge on the owner’s private land.

Situated on Bantry Bay against a mountainous backdrop, Glengariff has a fine selection of shops, restaurants, pubs and galleries, and is home to a picturesque harbour as well as the hidden Blue Pool. Hop on a boat from the main harbour to Garnish Island, or head into the hills to wander the trails of the Glengariff Nature Reserve and observe the view from Lady Bantry’s Lookout (both 1 mile). Golf enthusiasts can play a round at the 9-hole Glengariff Golf Club (2 miles).
