Description

Tucked away in a quiet valley within the grounds of a charming country house boasting over 3 acres of extensive landscaped gardens, this beautifully quaint cottage is perfect for couples and families looking for a peaceful escape along the magical Wild Atlantic Way.

Beneath the traditional stone exterior, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a haven of contemporary charm, boasting characterful homely touches, plush soft furnishings and plenty of beautiful natural wood that perfectly reflects the unspoilt countryside that surrounds you. Stylish and sophisticated, the contemporary family bathroom offers everything you need to wash off the day’s adventures. Upstairs, tucked beneath the eaves you’ll find one double bedroom and one single bedroom, which both feature characterful sloping ceilings and Velux windows framing some wonderfully unspoilt countryside views that’ll lull you into a peaceful slumber. Soak up the last of the evening’s sunshine by dining alfresco amongst the mature planting in the courtyard or by strolling around the shared landscaped gardens that feature an abundance of flowers and a huge variety of sub-tropical plants, mature shrubs, and trees.

Located at the head of Dunmanus Bay where the Sheep’s Head and Mizen Head Peninsulas meet, the village of Durrus (2.5 miles) offers easy access to the Sheep’s Head Way, the Beara Way and the Drimoleague Heritage Walks, as well as a great selection of local pubs and restaurants renowned for serving locally sourced produce. Closer to home, over 3 acres of landscaped gardens await to be explored from the doorstep, with scenic walks that feature an ancient boulder-burial site and magnificent panoramic views. Durrus Pier, 2.5 miles away, and Kilcrohane Pier, 13 miles away, offer a great diversity of fish, perfect for keen anglers.
