Description

Experience a County Cork adventure on the edge of Clonakilty Bay, staying in this perfectly appointed holiday home with traditional country styling throughout. On the water’s edge, this property benefits from an upside-down layout to ensure views across the water can always be admired from its open-plan living space on the ground floor. The abode accommodates four guests, lending itself perfectly to any small family holiday or a couples’ retreat for those hoping to enjoy a little bit of extra space. Heading out on foot or by bike, spend your time exploring the unrivalled scenery of rolling hills and rural beaches nearby.

As you arrive at the property, first notice the seating area outside where the patio table and chairs invite you to enjoy the view with a morning coffee or an end-of-day sundowner. Once indoors, you’re greeted by two lovely bedrooms on the ground floor, a twin and a double. Both bedrooms are equal in attraction with comfortable furnishings and space for storage, and the double is equipped with an en-suite bathroom. Moving upstairs, a family bathroom sits adjacent to a large open-plan living area with clearly defined spaces to lounge, cook and dine. Switch on the TV or simply admire the views whilst curled up in an armchair by the warming electric fire.

Admire the scenery as you wander through a country road to Clonakilty Bay, 2 miles away, where there’s plenty to do on a rainy day. Get educated at the Michael Collins House Museum, have some fun at the West Cork Model Railway Village (both 2.5 miles) or enjoy a tipple at the Clonakilty Distillery (2 miles). For a day out that’s best enjoyed on a dry, sunny day, visit Courtmacsherry (7 miles) to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime whale and dolphin spotting expedition on the choppy waters of the Atlantic.

Reviews

Fabulous location and a cleverly designed property that was comfortable and user friendly. We had a very enjoyable time there.

Mr H,

We loved our stay here. The area is 10 min drive from Clonakilty town. We had a car but bikes could be an option as the route is flat. Cottage is perfect, homely and spacious. Cooked our own meals, it had everything we needed including a table and chairs outside to eat in the sunshine. We had 3 adults and 1 toddler. The area is quiet and peaceful. My little girl loved hearing a cockadoodledoo in the distance! Some days we didn’t leave the area, just relaxed in the patio looking out ant the water and went for little walks around the lovely countryside and waterfront. The owner Mary was friendly and helpful, as were all the neighbours we met. We are already looking forward to going back!
