Description

Switch off and relax completely in this charming cottage, which has a wooded setting and fabulous views from its first-floor living space and veranda. With three bedrooms and three bathrooms, it’s ideal for groups of friends or families with children over four, and is located just half a mile from a village with places to eat and drink, whilst also being close to safe, sandy beaches.

When you step through the door, head straight up the stairs and enjoy the views from the open-plan living space. With a natural timber floor and brightly painted cupboards and beams, it has a breezy, coastal vibe. The compact kitchen boasts a microwave and a dishwasher, and there’s a separate utility with laundry facilities and a freezer. After supper at one of the two dining tables, you can settle in the comfortable chairs and enjoy the TV or a DVD. At bedtime, there’s a king-sized bedroom and an adjacent bathroom on this floor, while on the ground floor, you’ll find a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom as well as a twin room and a shower room. For fresh air and sunshine, the raised veranda leads off the living space, and there’s a large garden to enjoy too.

The property sits on the edge of the coastal village of Castletownshend, 0.5 miles from the harbour, shop, restaurant and pubs. The village is a hub for angling, marine tours, and whale and dolphin watching trips, and also boasts the historic Drishane House, which you can visit along with its gardens and museum. Spend days at the beach – either Sandycove, 1.5 miles, or Tragumna, 6 miles – or get out and about; within 10 miles, you’ll find all kinds of activities, from walking to kayaking, and the lively market town of Skibbereen is just 5 miles away.

Location

Reviews

This is a lovely, comfortable house which is a great base for exploring beautiful West Cork.

Ms H,

We had a great time in the Boathouse -the location is even nicer than shown in the fotos. A great view from the balcony over the countryside - in the far distance the Atlantic. The house ist very well equipped and cooking no problem! The bathrooms are very new and clean. The sleeping rooms are cosy! We all felt really comfortable and would come back anytime!
