This sweet cottage offers a lovely romantic retreat, for two in a beautiful corner of South West Ireland. Set on a working goat farm, where you are welcome to watch the daily routine, it is less than 2 miles from the coast and the colourful fishing village of Baltimore. You’ll find shops, bars and restaurants serving fresh seafood here, with ferries to unspoiled Cape Clear and Sherkin Islands nearby. Deep sea fishing trips and marine wildlife safaris run from the harbour, while the clear waters of West Cork are ideal for diving and snorkelling, with courses for beginners. Lough Hyne (1 mile) is a beautiful, marine nature reserve and this is great walking country, with easy and more challenging trails through a wonderfully scenic landscape.

The well-designed open-plan living area is light and spacious, furnished in a pretty cottage style, with a comfortable sofa, a neat dining table and a compact kitchen. Rustle up something tasty and perhaps eat it on your laps as the wood burner roars away. Also on the ground floor are an inviting double bedroom with stone flooring and a bathroom. Steep stairs lead up to a loft/gallery with a fine arched window and a double daybed. This can be used as a cosy hideaway or to sleep two additional guests.
