Description
This charming cottage is tucked away on a 5-acre organic hobby farm, just a stone’s throw from Lough Ine Nature Reserve. With large gardens and a summerhouse to enjoy, it is bursting with character and perfect for couples and groups of friends looking to uncover the outstanding natural beauty of West Cork’s countryside.
The stunning flagstone floor, roaring wood burner and charming panelled ceiling in the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner create a truly warming, homely ambience; superb woodland views and characterful rustic touches set the scene for the ultimate cosy night at the end of a busy day’s adventure. Boasting more stunning flagstone flooring, a charming sloping ceiling with beautiful Velux windows, and crisp linens, the ground-floor king size bedroom is a haven of serenity, whilst the cosy double bedroom upstairs, with its large Velux window and gorgeous ceiling beams, offers the perfect peaceful hideaway for a dreamy slumber. Unwind after a long day by strolling through the 5 acres of surrounding shared gardens, with a quaint summerhouse and vegetable patch to discover, before soaking up the fresh countryside air with a glass of something chilled on the patio furniture.
Where the Wild Atlantic Way meets Carbery's Hundred Isles, the historic village of Baltimore, 2.5 miles away, boasts some wonderful local pubs and restaurants, and is famed for its water sports activities, with snorkelling, kayaking, diving, and deep-sea angling on offer. Those who love life on the water can head to nearby Lough Hyne half a mile away to enjoy night kayaking to witness the bioluminescence for which this sea lake is famous. Hop aboard the ferry to the Sherkin and Cape Clear islands from Baltimore Pier 2.5 miles away or while away a fine summer afternoon on the sandy shores of Tragumna Beach, 4 miles away.
