Description

Brimming with charm, this leafy waterfront property features a prime location on the banks of Ardgroom Harbour with access to a private pebble beach. Multigenerational families and groups of old friends will delight in an escape to this coastal bolthole in County Cork. Soak in the sweeping ocean vistas and rocky landscape of Beara Peninsula (within 1 mile) as you amble along the coastal trail, before returning home to tuck into an al fresco supper on the wooden veranda.

This inviting home features an elegant interior with earthy neutral tones, leather textures, and wood panelling throughout. Shrug off outer layers at the door then scope out the open-plan living space. Stock the wooden kitchen cabinets full of locally sourced goodies, then gather around the dining table for a sociable family supper. In warmer months, throw open the patio doors that spill into the lush outdoor space. Perch at the seats by the window with a leisurely game of cards or pad into the stylish lounge. Curl up on the plump sofa with a brew and fire up the wood burner to chase away the winter chill. Enjoy a restful night’s sleep in your choice of four bedrooms, including three double rooms and a cosy twin bedroom, two with en-suites and each with solid wood furniture and garden views. Outside, unwind on the timbered sun deck overlooking the harbour or whip up a grilled BBQ feast.

Thrill-seekers can brave a brisk, wild dip in the waters Glenbeg Lough (3.5 miles). For an unforgettable activity, kit up to Kayak alongside a colony of seals at Adrigole (20 miles) then delve into the rich local heritage with a visit to the striking Kenmare Stone Circle (24 miles).

Location

Reviews

We had a lovely week, location is great, right on the water. Outside deck for coffee, drinks and bbq helped by amazing weather. Very comfortable and easy to access the peninsula. Cycling was enjoyed around the peninsula as was a swim at the bottom of the garden. It is a good 30 min walk to local pub in Ardgroom which had good Guinness and a roaring fire. Lovely walks from the house too. Kitchen well equipped, would definitely recommend.

Mrs W,

We know now about this rental and overall there isn't much to say. We like simple and functional things. We cooked a lot and had no difficulty with the equipment.

Mr G,

We remained one week and we had a lovely time in Maureen's house. It's a very comfortable house with big rooms ans and excellent beds, the kitchen is nice, everything to do cooking. Showers are great and the scenery is really marvellous.

Mr De L,

The cottage has amazing views and beautiful location and very clean and well equipped and like home from home.

Mr C,

The views from the property across Ardgroom Bay to the Caha Mountains are stunning! The property is spacious with all the mod cons but it also has a lot of character which makes it a welcoming and comfortable space which you can settle into very quickly. The garden is large and perfect for active kids. Our boys loved venturing with us to the small inlet at the bottom of the garden to look for crabs and shrimp. There's so much to see in the local area and the property is very conveniently located to visit many locations without a long drive. We would love to return at some point.

Mr W,
