This superb property, situated in a secluded countryside location at the foot of the Slieve Miskish Mountains, is the ultimate rural hideaway for small families or couples. Sleeping four over two bedrooms, this cottage is ideal to use as a base to explore attractions such as the Ardgroom Stone Circle (1.5 miles) and Dunboy Castle (12 miles). And since the property is located on the Wild Atlantic Way, seasoned hikers will be in their element here.

Surrounded by views of Kenmare River, MacGillycuddy’s Reeks and the Caha Mountains, this property is stunning both inside and out. Painted stone walls, gorgeous tiled floors and carefully selected furniture in the open-plan living area create a blend of the traditional and contemporary; curl up on the sofas in front of the fire after enjoying dinner at the farmhouse-style table, looking out at the countryside. The pretty kitchen has everything you need to whip up delicious meals and the small table is ideal for perching at with your morning coffee, taking in the fantastic views. Immerse yourself in the scenery from the garden, enjoying al fresco meals looking over the river. Upstairs, a double and a twin bedroom await; both have peaceful pastel tones to help you drift off to sleep. Finally, the nautical-style bathroom with a shower over the bath is ideal for both quick rinses and long soaks.

Grab your hiking boots or bicycles and head off down the Ring of Beara from Lauragh (6 miles) for as long as you can manage! If you prefer to travel on four wheels, hop in the car and weave through Healy Pass (10.5 miles) where you’ll see some breathtaking scenery. Location

Reviews

A lovely cottage in a superb location, with wonderful views across the estuary to the mountains of Kerry. The kitchen was very well stocked with equipment for whatever cooking you might want to do and we loved sitting at the kitchen table taking in the view. Owners very helpful and had left some much appreciated general provisions for our arrival. Definitely recommend if you like a rural location and want a base from which to explore the Beara peninsula.

Ms H,

Very beautiful cottage in a wonderful area. Everything you need is in the house. It is confortable and a fireplace was a plus. Wonderful view. Nice people at the pub and at the coffee shop. Many things to visit around the place. Dursey Island,Lauragh, Allihies, Glengarriff, Kenmare,Killarney and so on. The stone circle is a nice walk. Good value for the money.

Ms H,

We had a fantastic stay at Faunleave. The view from the cottage is priceless and the communication with the owner was smooth and fast. I can't wait to come back again !
