Accessed via a characterful, spiral staircase, the homely lounge, which boasts a balcony overlooking the courtyard gardens, is reminiscent of a traditional farmhouse with stunning original exposed beams - there’s also a handy double sofa bed to cater for an additional two guests. Across the ground and first floor, you’ll find two en-suite double bedrooms and two double or twin bedrooms, each with an additional single foldaway bed that all feature the same rustic charm as the rest of the cottage. Outside, pick seasonal organic produce in the enclosed courtyard gardens before enjoying a glass of something chilled on the patio.

Keen anglers can cast off for pike at Tulla Angling Centre 3 miles from the town, whilst culture vultures can head to the historic market town of Ennis 11 miles away to discover its 13th-century friary, and Clare Museum.
